Your Frigidaire fridge has stopped cooling and is beeping
If your Frigidaire fridge stops cooling and the temperature rises to 55 degrees Fahrenheit or more, your fridge beeps to warn you that action is required to fix the underlying problem.

- Press the mute alarm, alarm reset, or the set button on your Frigidaire fridge to stop the beeping.
- If that doesn’t reset the alarm and stop it from beeping, you’ll need to unplug your fridge for a couple of minutes, then plug it back in. This should reset the alarm system.

Your Frigidaire fridge beeps five times
If your Frigidaire fridge door is open your fridge might beep five times to let you know you need to shut the door.
If your door is closed and you still hear five beeps, here’s what to do:

If a stuck door switch isn’t the problem, the door switch will need to be checked with a multimeter and if faulty, replaced.
- The power might have turned off. If you have an unexpected power outage or if you unplug your fridge, it might start beeping. The easiest way to solve this problem is to reset the alarm by pressing the reset button. If that doesn’t work, try a hard reset by unplugging your fridge and plugging it back in.
- Ice build-up. If you have an ice build-up in your freezer, this can cause a beeping alarm to go off. In this case, defrost your freezer and reset the alarm. If that doesn’t work, do a hard reset by unplugging your fridge and plugging it back in.
