We serviced a WHIRLPOOL DISHWASHER

Job Details:
Customer reported unit not drying properly as well as minor rust on front panel. Upon arrival tested unit in diagnostic mode. I found that all components are functioning as they should. Dispenser is dispensing rinse aid and soap as needed and heater is kicking on properly. I found that unit is getting filled with cold water. Let customer know for the best wash/dry to run hot water in the sink before starting up unit to ensure unit is getting filled with the proper temperature water. Called techline to see what they say about the minor staining/rusting. After sending pic techline stated that staining does not look like rust and that they could use a stainless steel cleaner. Tech line stated If staining does not come off that we could replace panel but it would not be covered under warranty. Relayed all info to customer. Installed tie wire to drain hose under sink. Found no issues at all with unit. Customer reported unit leaking from filter housing when dispensing water after replacing filter. Upon arrival found that customer had jammed in an off brand filter they had ordered from the internet. Removed filter and re installed original filter. Unit no longer leaks from filter housing when dispensing water. Let customer know he needs to use the proper filters that are made for whirlpool and not off brand filters that you can order on the internet. Let customer know using off brand filters can void warranty and cause damage to unit and components. Added tie wire to water line. Unit now functioning as designed. Customer reported unit leaking water when spinning. Upon arrival found no error codes. Found that suspension was severely worn out and that the drum was almost rubbing against the lid. When inspecting under unit found gearcase severely leaking oil. Tested unit and unit shook excessively when spinning but I did not see any leaking. My guess is that the water is leaking out of the top since the suspension is so bad. Ordering suspension, gearcase, cam, actuator, and belt. My problem is not resolved, the dishwasher I purchased has false advertising because it has not dried my dishes since I first purchased it. The technician recommended I make my water hotter which doesn’t make sense bc the heating element for drying occurs at the end of the cycle.
